Jesus said: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law:judgment and mercy and fidelity. But these you should have done, without neglecting the others. Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You cleanse the outside of cup and dish, but inside they are full of plunder and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup, so that the outside also may be clean.”
No matter how we act in public, it is what is inside of us that counts. We can act anyway we want, but if we put on a facade of caring and love, but do not feel it inside, it will tell. How you feel will show, maybe not right away, but you cannot hide it forever. And, the Lord sees all, inside and out so it will not fool Him. Do your actions match your thoughts?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me when I start putting on a show, but in my heart, I do not feel that way. Help me to always change my thoughts, not my ways. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
The Lord comes to judge the earth.
