Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness. The names of the Twelve Apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus.

Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus, “Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town. Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”

Jesus’ mission was to the people of Israel, to bring them home but they rejected His message. Now many did believe, but most did not. Why? Many because they would have to give up their lifestyle and they could not do that. Are you rejecting the call of Christ because you do not want to give up the things of the world? You do not know what you are missing if you ignore His call. Look at the Israelite’s who did not listen and what they lost. Do not wait to answer His call.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise you for going to the pagans and others with your message of mercy, grace, and love. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen!

Seek always the face of the Lord, Alleluia!
