Jesus said to his disciples: “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.”
If we believe in God, we must live that belief. If we say the words but do not live them, no one will believe, they will laugh and scoff at the nonsense being spouted. If you have the light of the Lord in you, let it shine! That light will bring others to the Lord and show the glory of God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, you lit a fire in me that nothing can extinguish. That fire is love of you. Lead me and guide me so that I may always live what you preach. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
Lord, let your face shine on me.
