Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus came into this world to save us. He did not come to the leaders of the world, He came to the lowly, the outcast, the poor, the sick. He accepted death so He could free us from our own slavery. He set us free, all we have to do is accept Him and follow His truth. Are you set free?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, your truth set me free, once I accepted your Word. Thank you for the freedom to be the best person I can be in you and for your grace and mercy that forgives and heals. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
