The mother of Jesus and his brothers arrived at the house. Standing outside, they sent word to Jesus and called him. A crowd seated around him told him, “Your mother and your brothers and your sisters are outside asking for you.” But he said to them in reply, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”
Jesus is telling us that following God is more important than any family ties we have. The Word of the Lord surpasses all and doing the will of God is what we should all strive to do and if our family does not agree, then we must obey God, not family. It is not easy to do, but the rewards are endless.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise you that my family have always been followers of you. We do not agree on which Church, but they are all believers and follow your word. Thank you Lord, for this grace, Amen.
Here am I Lord; I come to do your will.
