I urge you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose. For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers and sisters, by Chloe’s people, that there are rivalries among you. I mean that each of you is saying, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with the wisdom of human eloquence, so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its meaning.
We are all baptized in Christ, but we are all divided. Christ called us to follow Him, He taught His Disciples and we are to follow what they learned from Him. What would Christ say today about all the different denominations that claim to follow His teachings. As divided as our churches are today, it is obvious that most are following their own teaching and not the teaching of Christ. What church do you belong to? His Apostolic Church or one of the thousands who think they know more than Christ?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I only want to follow the truth of your teachings. I know the Church that follows you and I give thanks that I belong to you through the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. You and Your Church have saved my life and I give you praise and thanksgiving through Christ your Son, Amen.
The Lord is my light and my salvation.
