As they were coming down from the mountain, the disciples asked Jesus, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” He said in reply, “Elijah will indeed come and restore all things; but I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they pleased. So also will the Son of Man suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.
We do not always see the Prophets in our lives. The Lord sends people, just as He sent John the Baptist and others, to remind us when we stray from the law of the Lord, when we are not living as we should. Do you pay attention to the Prophets in your life? Make a list of who they are and listen to the message they have for you. Are you paying attention?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the people you have sent into my life to lead me to you. I give thanks daily for their wisdom and knowledge and I praise you Lord that you waited for me to open my ears and my eyes and never left me. In Jesus’ holy name I ask for special blessings on them, Amen.
Lord, make us turn to you; let us see your face and we shall be saved.
