Jesus said to his disciples: “What is your opinion? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray? And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost.”
I have heard it said that a shepherd will not leave their flock to find one lost sheep. But Our Lord is different. He grieves over those who are lost and He does set out to find us. He gently calls our name until we answer. Have you heard His voice calling you? Come home so there will be rejoicing in heaven.
Prayer: heavenly Father: Thank you for calling me home. You were patient, you never gave up on me. In Jesus’ holy name, I give you praise and thanksgiving for being there for me, Amen.
The Lord our God comes with power.
