Brothers and sisters: You know the time; it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed; the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and lust, not in rivalry and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.
We are entering a time of waiting and anticipation. We know Christ is coming, we do not know when. We must prepare ourselves for that time. If we participate in the ways of the world, we will not know Christ when He comes. We will be asleep and we will lose eternal life. Put on the armor of God and live as if you believe, as if you want to spend eternity with Our Lord.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I do want to spend eternity with you. I want to be ready and awake when you come again. Your forgiveness has allowed me to awaken to the ways of the world and yearn to be with you. In Jesus’ holy name, amen.
Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.
