As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” And when he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they were going they were cleansed. And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.”
Are you one of the nine? The ones who did not give thanks and praise for what the Lord had done for them? How often do you remember to thank God for all the blessings and the things you have in your life? We need to keep in mind that all we have comes from God and be anxious to give Him thanks. Are you ready to be the one?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for all that you have done in my life. I realize that without you my life would be useless, dull and full of pain. I do not want to be one of the nine Lord, may I never forget your grace, mercy and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power
