May the word of the Lord fill you with love and bring you peace.

Jesus said to his Apostles: “As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give. Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts; no sack for the journey, or a second tunic, or sandals, or walking stick. The laborer deserves his keep. Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it, and stay there until you leave. As you enter a house, wish it peace. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; if not, let your peace return to you. Whoever will not receive you or listen to your words go outside that house or town and shake the dust from your feet. Amen, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.”

Jesus tells us this today. We are to do His work, which is the same as the Apostles. We are to heal the sick, preach His word and share what He has done for us in our lives. We are not told to beat people over the head with His word or try and force them to believe what we believe. Our mission is to speak His word, if we are not received, then we go peacefully to the next person or place. If what we say bears fruit, we are to stay and share more. Do you share the word of God? How do you feel if someone rejects you? Do you still love them and go on or do you try to force the word of God on them? Remember, God gave us all free will. If He does not force us to follow Him, how can we try to do that to others?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, may I always speak your word in peace and take rejection in love. I give you praise in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Let us see your face, Lord, and we shall be saved.
