Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and every illness. The names of the Twelve Apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus.
Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus, “Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town. Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”
Jesus came to save the Jews, not the Gentiles. He was going to all in the House of Israel and that is where He sent His Apostles. It was only when they did not believe that He sent them to the Gentiles. If we do not listen, who will He turn to? He has sent disciples over the years to us, but have we listened? The state of the world is the answer to that question. Do you listen to God or to the world?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for all those who have come to spread your word. I pray Lord that the world listens to you before we totally lose our souls. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
Seek always the face of the Lord, Alleluia!
