Brothers and sisters: For freedom Christ set us free; so stand firm and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery.
For you were called for freedom, brothers and sisters. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather, serve one another through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. But if you go on biting and devouring one another, beware that you are not consumed by one another.
I say, then: live by the Spirit and you will certainly not gratify the desire of the flesh. For the flesh has desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you may not do what you want. But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
If you want to know true freedom, believe in what Christ says. Give up the things and the desires that are not of Him. True freedom comes from trusting and believing and not allowing the world to lure into bondage. Bondage tells you that you can do it alone, that you deserve everything you can get and getting even is the right thing, not forgiveness. Do not let the world lure you with false promises. Believe the one who spoke over 2,000 years ago and whose word still lives today. Do you ever wonder why it still lives and did not die like so many other beliefs? The truth does not lie.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, for so long I believed the lies of the world and thought I was free! Today I know freedom that I never believed possible, because I gave up the world and took you at your word. In Jesus’ holy name, I give you thankful praise, honor and glory! Amen!
You are my inheritance, O Lord.
