People were bringing children to Jesus that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.” Then he embraced the children and blessed them, placing his hands on them.
If a child is not raised to know and love God then that child has been prevented from going to Him. Children need God in their lives, they need steady instruction and worship and when adults do not do they go against the will of God. Today we hear a lot of nonsense about letting children decide if they want religion or not. If you do not tell them, who will? We too much accept Him with the same childlike joy and innocence. Do you believe that? Do you practice it? The salvation of your soul requires that you do.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to bring your children, young and old, to you. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
Let my prayer come like incense before you.
