Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.”

We see today how the world hates those who love Christ. Christians have been persecuted in many countries. In the US we are seeing the signs of persecution in how we live our lives, efforts to force us to fund causes that go against our beliefs. When we see this we must remember that Christ was persecuted and told us that we will be too. Do you hold firm to your beliefs or do you give in to the world? Christ died for you, can you not stand up for Him?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I stand firm in my belief in all that you have taught me. I pray I will not waiver when tested. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.

Let all the earth cry out to God with joy, Alleluia

Jesus said to his disciples: “This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another.”

You have been chosen by God. What is your answer? Do you choose Him or reject Him? You have free will to do what you want, but if you do not choose to accept His friendship you will not remain in Him. Choose life, choose love, choose Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose your friendship Lord and want to live in you. Thank you for all the gifts that you have given to me. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.

I will give you thanks among the peoples, O Lord, Alleluia!

Jesus said to his disciples: “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

“I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.”

Do you know the love of God? Do you know that there is nothing you can do that will make God stop loving you? We are the ones who distance ourselves from God. He just wants us to keep His commandments. Is that so hard to do? To bask in His love and joy is worth whatever you need to do. Come home to the truth and find life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of joy and happiness that you have given to me. You told me your burden is light and it is, it is lighter than anything the world has to offer. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.

Proclaim God’s marvelous deeds to all the nations, Alleluia!

Jesus said to his disciples: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit. You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you. Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch  and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.”

If you do not have the truth in you, you will be thrown out, and cast into a fire. You cannot bear fruit if you do not have Christ and His word within you. If you want eternal life, take His word within you, live it and share it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I live in you and your word. Help me to always keep it within me, share it and live only for you. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.

Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord, Alleluia.!

Jesus said to his disciples: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming. He has no power over me, but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me.”

When Christ left this earth, He left us His peace. The ruler of the world came and has been working to destroy that peace. If you place your trust in Christ and not the world, you will have the peace that He left us. If you trust the world, you will have no peace. What do you choose?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to place my trust in you and retain the peace that Christ gives me. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.

Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your kingdom, Alleluia!

Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages. They will pick up serpents with their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them, was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God. But they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through accompanying signs.

With these words, Jesus gave His Disciples the power and strength to go to the whole world and spread the Good News. With these words, Jesus gives us the power, strength and command to go and spread the Good News. Christianity spread without the aid of our modern communications system, it spread because people heard and believed. We have the power to flood the world with the truth, do you use it? Are you willing to take up Jesus’ command? Open the hearts of those in your world by spreading the Good News, become a modern day Disciple of our Lord. Think of the power for good you have at your fingertips.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that I am the Disciple you want me to be. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen!

For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord, Alleluia!

When Judas had left them, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and God will glorify him at once. My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

How much do you love others? Do you only love those who love you? Do you try to love others, not criticize them, accept them for who they are? God loves us unconditionally, we should also. Why is it so hard?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I love the people in my life as you do, help me to love those that I should love as you do. In Jesus’ holy name I ask for this grace, Amen.

I will praise your name for ever, my king and my God, Alleluia!
