When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury
and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins. He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.”
The Lord wants us to give all we have. When we only give from our surplus we are not making a sacrifice. Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice all He asks is that we sacrifice for love of Him. If we give only what we can afford, where is the sacrifice?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your gift of sacrifice. Help me to remember when I think I do not have enough I cannot give more than you gave me. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
Glory and praise for ever!
