Jesus summoned the Twelve and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither walking stick, nor sack, nor food, nor money, and let no one take a second tunic. Whatever house you enter, stay there and leave from there. And as for those who do not welcome you, when you leave that town, shake the dust from your feet in testimony against them.” Then they set out and went from village to village proclaiming the good news and curing diseases everywhere.

Today we do not go from town to town like the Twelve did, but we are still responsible for proclaiming the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Do you believe that these healings still take place? That God continues to work through those who proclaim His word? He does. Read the life of St. Pius of Pietrelcina (St. Padre Pio) and learn what a true man of God can do when he submits himself to God. You too can do what he did, give your life to Christ and listen to what He tells you. You too can work miracles.

Prayer: May your heart always be the temple of the Holy Spirit. May Jesus always be the helmsman of your little spiritual ship. May Mary be the star which shines on your path and may she show you the safe way to reach the Heavenly Father, Amen.

Blessed be God, who lives forever.
