May the word of the Lord fill you with love and bring you peace.

A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus, and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” But the Pharisees said, “He drives out demons by the prince of demons.”

Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”

“…because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.” This sounds like what is happening today. So many are lost and confused. They are searching for peace and looking in all the wrong places. The world does not bring peace, it brings chaos. It blinds those who do not believe the truth. The truth that comes only from God. The truth that leads to freedom. The truth that leads to that place in your heart where Our Lord is waiting for you. Where are you searching?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the truth that you have given us to live by. Thank you for all that you have stored in my heart, the love and joy that has led to true freedom for me and all who follow you. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen!

In justice, I shall behold your face, O Lord.
