May the word of the Lord fill you with love and bring you peace.

Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say:

Father, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test.”

We are still asking Jesus to teach us to pray. He gave us a simple prayer that says all we need, but we have to complicate it by adding more and more requests. This prayer is for our needs, for the things we truly need and for the forgiveness we need to live our life according to His word. What are your needs? What do you ask for? Are you content with simplicity? Why add to what Jesus taught us?

Prayer: “Father, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us and do not subject us to the final test.”

Go out to all the world, and tell the Good News.
